“Damn it. And when we’re late, Dr. O is going to blame it on us too,” Ethan complained. Conner just smirked and shook his head as they heard the shower start in the adjacent room. The argument in the hall must have ended.
“Not if I can help it” he said, digging through his pocket until he found a paper clip. Minutes later, he’d concocted a virtual lock pick, and quietly got the bathroom door unlocked. He slipped back over to his suit case and pulled out a long rubber item. “Thought this might come in handy,” he laughed, showing the object to Ethan who grinned, and watched as his former leader cracked the bathroom door, and plopped the item down on the floor inside before relocking the door. “Now we wait.”“No, me first! It’s my section!”
“You covered two different tables in my section today! And you haven’t had your break yet!”
“They’re usually kind of slow here,” Jason was saying absently back at the table. “Worth it, though. And the waitresses are nice.”
“That’s cuz you’re hot,” Trini muttered darkly. Kimberly giggled.
“So their fish is good, Trini?” Billy asked.Carri tossed uncomfortably in the medical bed. She couldn’t breathe and her heart was racing. She couldn’t hear anything except a loud whooshing sound in her ears. She tried to tell Billy that she couldn’t breathe, but her voice wouldn’t work; nothing worked. Panic grabbed her and she thrashed about, but nothing moved like it was supposed to.
“What’s happening?” Kim asked, trying to hold Carri on the table. She was thrashing so violently she was afraid her friend would fall off the narrow bed. Rocky grabbed her legs and the two struggled to keep her in place.
“Anaphylactic shock.” Billy said, changing the setting on his scanner. “She can’t breath, her throat is closed. Hold her down,” He said firmly as he turned and grabbed a more intricate piece of medical equipment. “I’ve got to get her airways open.”
