“Wait, I only had one!” Zack stated, grinning. Tommy just raised his eyebrows at the two of them, and crossed his arms over his chest. This was getting absolutely ridiculous. “Pretty soon he’s going to steal everyone’s identity,” Zack added, ignoring the look he was getting from Tommy, who had officially stopped moving, positioning himself between the group of adult rangers, and his newest team behind him. Trent nearly walked into him; realizing too late that he’d stopped all forward motion. “What’s wrong Tommy? Mad at us? Going to go all evil on us again?” Zack teased. Tommy’s face turned slightly green, and the smile on Kimberly’s face faded. She tugged on Zack’s shirt lightly, trying to get his attention, but Zack just shrugged her off.It bugged him, to say the least, especially since it had seemed so… anti-climatic. Kimberly sent the letter, they all tried to cheer up Tommy, and no one ever mentioned it again. Whatever guy Kimberly had dumped Tommy for had been gone a few months later; she’d been single when she came to visit right after Jason had lost the Gold Ranger powers… and Tommy had started dating Kat.

Jason had liked Kat, he really had; he counted her as a friend before long, though she wasn’t quite as dear to him as Tommy, Billy, Zack, Kimberly and Trini. Yet something about her and Tommy had always seemed… off to him. She just seemed like… Kimberly’s replacement, in more ways than one. Jason could have sworn he even caught Tommy stumbling over her name once or twice. Jason couldn’t help but think that if it wasn’t for her, Tommy would have gone after Kimberly. He wouldn’t have just accepted it and not at least called or written for an explanation. Jason knew that Tommy had been rather shaken by Kimberly’s leaving, and it seemed to Jason that Tommy had been trying to avoid thinking about it. He’d let Kat be the new Pink Ranger, Kat be his new friend… and somehow she’d become Tommy’s new Kimberly.“What’s with all the fish angst?” She asked, a bit ticked with his attitude, she had to find a place for the tank somewhere. She was surprised to meet with so much resistance from everyone.

Jason told her she could keep it at his place, but he’d feed the fish to the next cat he found, Carri flat out wouldn’t have them, and Tommy had just starred at her like she was crazy. Her brother’s tiny apartment was too small and no one else seemed willing to foster them either.

“Remind you too much of your ex?” Jason chuckled, entering the room and catching the tale end of the conversation.
