“Oh no way. You are so not going bar hopping,” she directed at her fiancé, poking him hard in the chest while he was on the ladder to climb out, which forced him back into the water.
“What if we promised to just go to the bar in the hotel?” Zack asked. Trini rapidly shook her head.
“Why not Trini?” Adam pipped in. It sounded like fun.
“Two reasons: one, you have three under age boys with you.”
“But you let Kira have a drink Sunday night,” Conner protested, but his whining just went ignored.
“And two, do you remember what happened the last time you spent some time at the hotel bar?” Trini finished. Zack, Jason, and Tommy looked down at their feet and nodded. “Kimberly won’t be around to save your butts from the maids again, so no bars. In fact, no alcohol at all.”“He’s coming back into town for the week. So are Kimberly and Tommy. Er, and some of Tommy’s… um… friends,” Billy said. There really was no tactful way to describe Conner, Kira, Ethan and Trent.
“Bring them all, bring them all! I miss them, too. You kids, wandering around in the garage for hours on end, occasionally blowing things up… good times.”
“I didn’t blow things up that often,” Billy insisted, but without any real conviction.
“Sure you didn’t, son. Well, I can hear a lot of background noise—are you busy?”“It’s an intriguing concept. Providing those creatures will actually respond like insects and assuming we can find the correct frequency. It may only act as a deterrent, but it might buy us time to find a way to destroy them” Billy said, considering the idea. “Do you have one I could look at?”
“They’re up at the house. I can get one.” She said standing up. The yellow lights immediately assaulted her eyes and stumbled against Tommy.
“I’ll go get one.” Rocky offered. “I don’t seem to be effected by the stings.”
“I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” Tommy said. “That house has issues.”
