“Well, lunch was a bust,” she stated, showing the display to Trini and Aisha. It was three in the afternoon. “How about we shower off and then do a little girl time?” she asked the two of them, who smiled and nodded.
“Kira, we’re gonna hit the mall. Want to come?” Trini asked, turning to the teenager. Kira wasn’t usually one to go to the mall, but at that point she was much more inclined to join Kimberly, Aisha, and Trini, than to spend the evening in the company of her male teammates, and her teachers male friends.
“Sure,” she replied, as she followed them out of the pool.
“What do you guys have planned for the evening?” Kimberly asked, looking at Tommy and Jason. Both shrugged.
“Probably nothing,” Jason responded.“Well… Trini and Jason have a guest room, so I thought I’d stay with them. Wouldn’t want to impose on you. Plus, you know, I’m guessing my old room’s still roped off.”
“Yes. I kept putting off fixing up that whole in the wall; it’s still just boarded over. The scorch marks remind me so much of you! Unfortunately, though, I’m going out of town tomorrow; my plane leans at four. I’m giving a couple of lectures at John Hopkins, but I’ll only be gone until Friday. How long are you staying?”
“Until Sunday, at least,” Billy said. “So, can I come by in the morning?”
“Of course, of course! Around ten?”Billy reached out and injected him with anti-venom before he could protest. “I’ll prepare some extra doses for the civilians.” He said, turning back to the computer consol. They had all been stung multiple times and were all in various stages of a reaction. Carri had the worst of it. Her face and fingers were swollen and tiny hives had appeared all over her body.
“It’s not like we can flood Angel Grove with poison.” Jason offered. “Killing the people would kinda defeat the purpose.”
“It’s doubtful an artificially created monster would react to poison.” Billy said absently, filling several vials with serum. Besides, he’d already considered the idea.
