“Watch where you’re… oh.” Zack trailed off, and nudged Tommy and Jason, then smiled up at the women. “Good afternoon, ladies.” Both women just continued to glare. “Where’s Billy when we need him,” the first black ranger mumbled to his two friends. Tommy just shrugged, reliving the broom slamming against his head, and he back up even further, placing Jason closest to the women.
“What seems to be the problem, ladies?” the former red ranger spoke up, running his hand through his hair.
“There have been complaints!” the first one said, but it was nearly indistinguishable due to her heavy Swedish accent.
“Not surprisingly about you,” the second added.“Remember when he first became the Black Ranger?” Ethan said. “Said he had to go shopping because there was a shortage of black in his closet?”
Jason laughed. “Did you really?”
“Shut up, Jason,” Tommy said wearily.
“Tommy, let me teach you what I do to choose an outfit when I’m in a hurry,” Kimberly said, stepping forward.
“Oh, this outta be good,” Zack joked.
“It’s a highly sophisticated, foolproof method,” she said seriously. She held up her index finger and began pointing at each shirt in turn. “Eeney, meeney, miney, moe,” she intoned. There were no claybots again this Friday. That in itself was a bad omen. Monster number four-seventy-two was beyond description. It wasn’t a bee, it wasn’t a can of soup, it was some weird mishmash of alien technology. The problem, the Rangers soon discovered, was that it blew up fairly easily. All the little pieces, however, soon became a swarm of little bee cans.
“Did I ask for this before coffee?” Carri hissed as a little bee monster dipped and dove around her helmet, trying to sting her through her uniform. “No, I didn’t ask for this before coffee.”
“Someone want to offer up an idea of what to do now?” Kim asked, in the same boat times around five. “Ow! Shit, that hurts! Watch the stingers guys.” She said.
The morning had been very nice for Kim. She’d taken her drawings over to her uncle’s office for her brother Michael to look at. She knew what she wanted the rooms in the house to look like, but getting the actual construction plans were another story. Despite the early hour, Her brother had his hands full with another client and had passed her off to one of his friends. An hour later, Kim had a date for the night, but she’d also had to run off and answer her communicator.
