Trini and Aisha lowered themselves into the pool, and Trini held Aisha’s left shoulder with her right hand, as Aisha held Trini’s right with her left hand, both stretching their arms between them. Kira lowered Kimberly in between them supported by their arms, and jumped in behind, using herself as a propeller for the make shift raft the girls had formed. It took no time for them to by pass Jason, Conner, and Rocky. They reached the far end only a second after Tommy, Adam, and Zack. Trini and Aisha pushed themselves up onto the wall, and then reached back down and pulled Kimberly up, and then Kira, while all four of the black rangers scrambled to get out at the same time, causing confusion and bumping on their team as the reds reached the wall.

Using the same tactic as earlier, Kira, Aisha, and Trini got their T-shirts off Kimberly, and onto themselves, just as re-shirted Tommy and Adam tried to get Zack’s shirt back on him, and Rocky and Conner helped Jason as he struggled to get his shirt off Trent.“How exactly does that work, seeing your dad when you don’t live on the planet?” Conner asked curiously.

“Well, I came back for my stuff not long after I left, as soon as I was back to being a teenager and teleporting was possible; the circuits were fried right after I got there. Anyway, I explained that I’d gotten a job working with the government, and all that. Then Trini and I worked out a way to hook up the Aquitian communication module to a telephone and actually call him. So I’ve been using Trini as a relay to my father for years. I don’t get to talk to him as much as I like, but I do get to talk to him often enough. He just, um, thinks I’m working for the military and can’t talk about my job. Which, technically, is almost kind of sort of true.”This suited Carri perfectly. She hated getting up before ten or eleven and loved to stay up late. She usually had quite a bit of work to do, despite her father’s assurance that she wouldn’t have much to do at all, and that generally kept her busy up until a few minutes before he was due home.

They had settled into a good routine. They would meet for dinner about eight and plan their evening from there. At first, Rocky had made an effort to get up and walk back down to the condo he technically shared with Jason, but after the first week she’d told him to lie back down and go to sleep. He would usually start to fall asleep by midnight, one in the morning. Sometimes she could keep him awake, most times she couldn’t. Rocky would sleep until seven or eight, kiss her goodbye, and then head off Jason’s to shower and change. Then the day would start over again.
